Security
The practical security of a well implemented PLC network is equivalent to or better than competitive wireline LAN/WAN systems.
The InovaTech system offers five types of security:-
1.
The Master-slave system requires that any IPCAT on the client site must be recognized and authorised by the MultiCAT
on the utility site if it wants to connect to the network;
2.
Real-time variable user specific modulation;
a.The modulation changes according to the signal to noise ratio (SNR);
b. The modulation changes in real-time according to the line characteristics
such as changes in phase and load;
c.To demodulate the signal, the eavesdropper needs to listen to both upstream and downstream
traffic, and will need to have an equal or better SNR on all channels;
3. The product supports link layer encryption;
4. The product supports IEEE 802.1q for VLAN;
5. The product supports encrypted VPNs for very sensitive applications using RSA,
BGP, DES, TripleDES, etc.
